The Mariani Streamliner, a record-setting land speed machine built by the world-famous shop Rad Rides by Troy, was in need of some small-scale counterparts for the Mariani family to display in their home.

This project was undertaken back when I was still an employee of Fiber Forged Composites. I went to Troy's shop and 3D scanned the 30+ foot long streamliner, then used the scan data to class-A surface model a ~60 inch scale model shown below. Renderings of the CAD model are also shown below.

At the time of this project, I was employed at Fiber Forged Composites and was in charge of design, CAD modeling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, and all related work. I traveled to Rad Rides to 3D scan the full-scale streamliner, then went back to FFC to reverse-engineer it and create a full Class-A surface model. We 3D printed the shown scale model (about 6 feet long) on the shop's BigRep One, then our super talented painter and bodyman Ed Robinson painted and decaled the model to look just like the real thing. I don't have any pictures of the completed model, but one of these days I'll get some (it's awesome - and ended up costing around $8k, just to be a tabletop conversation piece.)
