Rafale - A Paper Sculpture

Various manufacturing techniques were used to create complex surfaces with paper - resulting in a hollow, single-ply, self-supporting sculpture.

Using techniques ranging from wire-framing to 3D printing a buck, once completed this sculpture consisted of nothing but single-ply paper and Elmer's glue - with an internal counterbalance (paper is very light).

The college I created this at, SCAD Atlanta, went on to use this at an international collegiate event for showcasing student work.

Inspired by architect Zaha Hadid's work.
